DRDO successfully tested LRGR 120

Friends, In 2025, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved several major testing milestones, with the most recent being the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR-120) on December 29, 2025. 

Key Successful Tests in 2025

Pinaka LRGR-120 (December 29, 2025): Successfully conducted its maiden flight test at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.

Range: Achieved a maximum range of 120 km with textbook precision.

Features: Integrated advanced guidance (Inertial Navigation System with mid-course and terminal updates) and was launched from an in-service Pinaka launcher.

Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IADWS) (December 30, 2025): Successfully tested off the Odisha coast.

Components: The system included QRSAM, VSHORADS, and high-energy laser weapons, all of which flawlessly neutralized targets.

Akash-NG (Next Generation) (December 2024–December 2025): Completed User Evaluation Trials (UET) in late December 2025.

Performance: Intercepted high-speed, maneuvering aerial targets at various altitudes, paving the way for induction into the Indian Armed Forces.

Fighter Aircraft Escape System (December 2, 2025): Successfully conducted high-speed rocket-sled tests at 800 km/h to validate the pilot ejection and canopy severance systems for indigenous aircraft like the Tejas.

Pralay Missile (July 2025): Conducted two consecutive successful flight tests on July 28 and 29, 2025, validating both minimum and maximum range capabilities.

Gaurav Long Range Glide Bomb (April 2025): Successfully conducted release trials of this 1,000 kg class indigenously developed precision weapon from a Sukhoi-30 MKI.

Range: Demonstrated a range of approximately 100 km with pinpoint accuracy.

Naval Anti-Ship Missile (NASM-SR) (February 25, 2025): Successfully tested a first-of-its-kind missile with Man-in-Loop features, allowing for in-flight targeting.
