Friends according to the media reportsWhile various pilot projects and trials for drone delivery have taken place across India since 2019, Gurugram recently became the site for several major commercial and technological milestones in this field. 

As of February 2026, the following developments are live in Gurugram:

World’s First Automated Doorstep System: In February 2026, Skye Air Mobility launched a first-of-its-kind "Physical AI" delivery network. This system uses drones to deliver packages to a smart mailbox (Arrive Point), from which an autonomous robot (rover) retrieves the item and brings it to the customer's actual doorstep.

Commercial Scale: By early 2025, Gurugram had already become a major hub, recording approximately 1.5 lakh drone deliveries in the month of February 2025 alone.

Logistics Partnerships: Major players like Blue Dart and DTDC have integrated drone services in Gurugram to bypass traffic congestion for last-mile deliveries.

Specialized Teams: The city saw the launch of India's first all-women drone delivery team in March 2025, managing end-to-end logistics for essentials like medicines and electronics.

First Medical Drone Pilot: Conducted in 2019/2021 by firms like Zipline and Marut Drones in states like Telangana and Maharashtra.
