Friends according to the media report, The Airbus C-295 is the center of a pioneering Make in India project that will see 40 of these tactical transport aircraft manufactured domestically. 

Here are the key details surrounding this historic milestone:

Rollout Schedule: The first Made-in-India C-295 is officially expected to roll out from the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) facility in Vadodara by September 2026.

Private Sector First: This is the first time a private sector company in India will manufacture a complete military aircraft from the ground up, moving beyond just component manufacturing.

Strategic Partnership: The project is a collaboration between Airbus Defence and Space and TASL under a ₹21,935 crore contract signed in 2021 for a total of 56 aircraft.

Production Split: While the first 16 aircraft are being delivered in fly-away condition from Spain, the remaining 40 units will be built and assembled at the recently inaugurated Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Gujarat.

Replacing the Legacy: These aircraft are set to replace the Indian Air Forces (IAF) aging fleet of Avro-748 transport planes, which have been in service for over six decades.

Full Delivery Timeline: Following the initial 2026 rollout, the facility is scheduled to ramp up production to complete all 40 domestically manufactured aircraft by August 2031.source google, media reports.
