S-400 Missile Procurement: The Indian government has approved a deal worth approximately ₹10,000 crore to procure 288 additional S-400 missiles from Russia. This follows a previous agreement, with the final squadron from the original 2018 contract expected by November 2026.

Air Force Modernisation: The Defence Procurement Board has sanctioned a dual-pronged strategy worth roughly ₹1,00,000 crore for the procurement of 60 medium transport aircraft and the formal approval of a home-grown unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) project.

Maritime Defence Deals: The Ministry of Defence signed contracts worth ₹5,083 crore for six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III for the Coast Guard and VL-Shtil surface-to-air missiles for the Navy.

Stealth UCAV Development: The Ghatak UCAV program has moved closer to final approval after a recommendation to acquire 60 drones.

Indigenisation & Production: India recorded its highest-ever defence production of ₹1.54 lakh crore in 2024–25, with exports reaching a record ₹23,622 crore.

International Collaborations:

Israel has offered its Golden Horizon air-launched ballistic missile, which can be integrated into Su-30 fighter jets.

There is ongoing interest in the Dassault Rafale deal (114 jets), though negotiations regarding the sharing of sensitive source codes remain a critical point.
