Here are the details of BSE trading on July 23, 2024:

Sensex: The Sensex opened higher at 80,724.30 and touched a high of 80,766.41. However, it fell to a low of 79,224.32 after the finance minister's speech. At close, the Sensex was at 80,461.83, down 73.04 points, or 0.09%.

Nifty 50: The Nifty 50 opened higher at 24,568.90 and traded between a range of 24,074.20 and 24,582.55. At close, the Nifty 50 was at 24,479.05, down 30.20 points, or 0.12%.

Broader Market: The broader market closed in the red, with the BSE MidCap down 0.74% and the BSE SmallCap losing 0.18%.

Sectoral Indices: FMCG and Consumer Durables gained the most among sectoral indices, while sectors like Pharma, Healthcare, IT, and auto also closed in the green. However, the bank index closed down nearly 1%, while financial services lost 1.37%, followed by the Oil & Gas and Metal indices, which also closed in the red.

Top Gainers and Losers: Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Finance, SBI, Axis Bank, and Power Grid Corp. were the top drags on the Sensex. On the other hand, Titan, ITC, Adani Ports & SEZ, NTPC, and Infosys were the top gainers. Similarly, on the Nifty 50, Larsen & Toubro, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, Bajaj Finance, and SBI Life were the top losers, while Titan, ITC, Tata Consumer Products, Adani Ports & SEZ, and NTPC were the top gainers.
