Friends,according to. Media reports Bharat Connect is the new brand name for the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), an integrated, nationwide platform conceptualized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and operated by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) through its subsidiary, NBBL. 

It provides an interoperable, accessible, and secure ecosystem for all recurring and one-time bill payments across India, available 24/7 through both digital channels (banking apps, payment apps) and physical outlets (agent points, bank branches). 

Key Features and Benefits

Convenience: Customers can pay over 21,000+ billers across more than 25 categories, including electricity, water, gas, telecom, loan repayments, insurance, DTH recharge, and municipal taxes, all on a single platform.

Multiple Channels and Modes: Payments can be made using various methods like UPI, net banking, debit/credit cards, wallets, and even cash at agent outlets.

Instant Confirmation: Transactions are confirmed instantly with a unique Bharat Connect transaction ID and a 'B-assured' logo, ensuring reliability and security.

Centralized Dispute Management: The platform includes a centralized system for handling complaints and disputes with defined timelines for resolution, which enhances consumer confidence.

Cross-Border Payments: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can use the system to pay utility and other bills for family members in India directly. 

How to Use Bharat Connect

You don't need a separate app to use Bharat Connect. It is integrated into the existing bank apps and payment platforms you already use, such as Google Pay, PhonePe, and major bank websites/apps. 

Log in to your preferred Bharat Connect-enabled bank app or payment app/website.

Choose the "Bill Payment" option and select the appropriate biller category (e.g., electricity, water).

Enter the required details, such as your customer ID, mobile number, or bill reference number.

Review the bill details and select your preferred payment method.

Confirm the transaction to receive instant confirmation.
